Lots of logos and business cards have been on my task list, so I woke up today feeling extra inspired to tackle a creative solution for my personal business cards as well.

Every Good Design Starts with Inspiration

The task started out getting inspiration from my favorite websites: FFFFound.com & SmashingMagazine.com.

Advanced Google Searching

A great old technique I use to find exactly what I want with Google:

site:ffffound.com business cards

Replacing “ffffound.com” with your domain of choice and the query following immediately afterwards.

I found a couple cool examples, but most had illustrations and elaborate logos to work with. My brand is much more refined than the examples I saw. AGW’s logo simply uses Helvetica as the font. In order to come up with something unique, I decided I would use some interesting textures and flip the orientation of the card to Portrait.

AGW Business Cards

The goal of these cards is to communicate my brand, skillset, contact information and stick out in a pile of foreign cards. Since one of my skills is print, my print material better represent!

The Message

I found an amazing art quote that I feel accurately communicates my role in the creative world so I used it on my card as well:

“Create Like A God. Command Like a King. Work Like a Slave.” ~Constantin Brâncuşi

You can’t get anywhere without hard work and you won’t ever get the job you want if you’re not trying to fit the description. Any goal is attainable, and if creativity is your ticket – USE IT!
